Police Department
The Borough of Ashland is serviced by a police force of both full and part-time officers under the leadership of Police Chief Gerald Daley and Mayor Daniel Weikel. The police station is located in the basement level of the borough hall at 401 S. 18th Street. Non-Emergency call 875-2600 or 462-1991.

Fire Department
The Borough of Ashland has two volunteer fire companies, under the direction of Fire Chief Philip Groody. The American Hose company, located at 639 Walnut St. and the Washington Fire Company, located at 1305 Centre St. The two companies maintain a total of three fire engines, one ladder truck, equipment carrier and a forest fire truck.
Ambulance Service
The Ashland area is served by the Washington Community Ambulance Association, located at 1309 Centre St. The ambulance association has two ambulances and one rescue truck that serve the needs of the surrounding area.
